Filmmakers are invited to submit both short and feature-length documentaries and fiction films. Films must address environmental topics such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, sustainable living, renewable energy, conservation, environmental justice, wildlife, activism, and more. Only films completed within the past five years are eligible, and there are no premiere status requirements.

All films must be submitted via the designated submission platforms. Make sure you follow the platform rules, including maintaining active screener links and providing any required passwords throughout the selection process.

Yes, filmmakers are welcome to submit multiple films. However, each film must be submitted with its own entry form and accompanying fee.

Yes, there is a submission fee which varies depending on the rules of the individual submission platform you use.

Each film entry must include the following:

• A link to download the clean high-quality .mov or .mp4 file (without embedded subtitles) that remains active during the selection process. FHD, 2K or 4K UHD are accepted
• A separate English subtitle file (.srt)
• A high-resolution film poster
• At least three high-resolution film stills or screenshots
• A director’s biography (maximum 100 words)
• A high-resolution director’s photo
• A director’s statement (maximum 250 words) that outlines your film’s environmental theme and message

When your film is marked as “Incomplete,” it indicates that one or more critical components required by the submission guidelines have not been provided. This may include missing elements such as a separate subtitle file (SRT), high-resolution film stills, or any other required documentation. Please review the section “What materials must be submitted with my film?” for a detailed list of the necessary submission components and update your entry accordingly.

We encourage filmmakers to make their films accessible to a wider audience. If possible, please provide:

• Separate voice, sound, and music tracks to help us create dubbing and audio-described versions.
• Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, if available.

Including these elements ensures that your film is accessible and engaging for all audiences.
