On June 8th, 2025, at 19:30, the Kalamata Creative Documentary Center (Doc Cafe), located at 6 Koutsomitopoulou str, Kalamata, will host the inaugural event of the EcoFrames Environmental Film Festival. The evening will commence with a press conference, followed by the official announcement of the festival's program, showcasing a curated selection of films that delve into pressing environmental issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with filmmakers, environmental activists, and community leaders, fostering a dialogue on sustainability and ecological awareness. As with all our events, admission is free. The full event schedule will be available at the end of May.

The evening will feature the premiere screening of the festival's opening film, chosen for its compelling narrative and relevance to current environmental challenges. This open-air screening, powered entirely by solar energy through the Solar Cinema Project, exemplifies the festival's commitment to sustainable practices and innovative storytelling.

This initiative aims to transform public spaces and natural landscapes into immersive cinematic venues, fostering a deeper connection between audiences and the environment. The tour will culminate in Athens, continuing the tradition established over the past three years of engaging diverse audiences across Greece.

By integrating film screenings with community discussions and educational activities, EcoFrames aspires to inspire action and promote sustainable living practices. The festival's journey from Kalamata through Western Mani to Athens underscores a dedication to accessibility, environmental stewardship, and the transformative power of cinema.

In alignment with our commitment to inclusivity, all films featured in the EcoFrames Environmental Film Festival are adapted for individuals with disabilities. Screenings will include closed captions, audio descriptions, and, where appropriate, simplified language versions with dubbing. We strive to create an environment where everyone can engage with these powerful stories, fostering a shared understanding of environmental issues across all audiences.
